The Educate Africa Institute (EAI) commends President John Dramani Mahama for championing what can only be described as a generational course for justice and African dignity. His leadership at this critical moment positions him as a true gift to the African continent.

The historic resolution of the United Nations General Assembly on March 25, 2026, addressing reparations and acknowledging the enduring scars of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade marks a turning point in global justice.

This milestone, championed by President Mahama, is not only a diplomatic victory for Ghana but a resounding voice for the entire African continent and its diaspora.

President Mahama’s bold leadership in advancing the global reparations agenda demonstrates an unwavering commitment to truth, accountability, and historical redress.

His decisive appointment of Dr Ekwow Spio-Garbrah as Special Presidential Envoy for Global Reparations signals a strategic and sustained pursuit of justice for generations affected by one of humanity’s greatest injustices.

This is more than policy its purpose. It is a call to restore dignity, correct historical wrongs, and redefine Africa’s place in the global narrative.

President Mahama stands today as a symbol of total liberation advocacy championing not only economic and political independence, but also moral and historical justice. His leadership rekindles a long-standing Pan-African vision: that Africa must rise, united and unapologetic, in pursuit of what is rightfully owed.

The African continent must not remain silent in this defining moment. We must celebrate, support, and amplify this bold step.

In doing so, we are not merely honoring a leader we are advancing a legacy of justice, unity, and restitution for Africa and its people across the world.

Africa must rise. Africa must speak. Africa must be heard.

We're one people.

Signed
