George Cephas Forceby, popularly known as DJ Forceby, has built an inspiring career fuelled by his deep passion for entertainment.

From a young age, his love for music and performance set him on a remarkable journey that has seen him evolve from a school performer to a celebrated DJ, event organiser, and radio personality.

DJ Forceby began his education at Mamprobi Primary School before continuing to Korle Gonno 1 Junior High School. He later attended Kinbu Secondary Technical School, where his love for entertainment truly flourished.

During his time in secondary school, he actively participated in school entertainment events, performing as a rapper and singer. This growing passion for music and entertainment led him to explore more opportunities beyond the school walls.

A pivotal moment in his journey came when a friend introduced him to the National Theatre. There, he began performing on larger platforms, gaining exposure and experience.

In 2001, he participated in Kidafest, a prestigious youth talent competition, where he emerged as the first runner-up. This recognition further fuelled his ambition to make a name in the entertainment industry.

After completing secondary school, DJ Forceby decided to transition into DJing, inspired by his love for rap and performing. He looked up to seasoned DJs like DJ Black, who shaped his interest in the craft.

To refine his skills, he enrolled at Rabodef Radio School, where he received mentorship from industry professionals such as the late Charlie Sam, the late Mefia of PEACE FM, Tommy Annan Folson of GBC, and Kwabena Yeboah.

Upon graduating from Rabodef, DJ Forceby secured a six-month attachment at Sunrise FM at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) in Koforidua. His talent and dedication were quickly noticed by the programmes head, leading to an opportunity to serve as a guest presenter and DJ for two years. In 2007, he moved to Obuoba FM, continuing to build his reputation in the industry.

However, his journey was not without setbacks. When he joined Choice FM, the station was sold just a few months later, leaving him unemployed.

A friend then referred him to Great FM, where he was accepted, but once again, unfortunate circumstances struck. Due to frequent power outages and financial struggles, Great FM was forced to shut down, leaving him at another crossroads in his career.

Realising the uncertainties of radio, DJ Forceby sought a more stable path. He turned to event organisation, launching his first event at his alma mater, Kinbu Secondary Technical School.

The success of this event inspired him to establish his business, Forecity Entertainment, which specialised in event management, artist management, movie production, and content creation for radio and television.

With his growing team, DJ Forceby initiated the Substance Abuse Campaign in 2013-2014, touring 10 schools in southern Ghana.

With Trigmatic as the ambassador, the campaign received endorsements from the Ghana Education Service, Ministry of Gender, World Health Organisation, and other esteemed organisations.

This project solidified his influence in the entertainment industry as an advocate for social change.

However, in 2016, the introduction of the Free Education Scheme halted the campaign due to funding constraints. With his initiative on pause, DJ Forceby returned to radio, where he was soon recruited by Daadi FM 101.1, his current home.

At Daadi FM, DJ Forceby has made a name for himself, hosting popular shows such as “Twa Wo Naase Ma Dadi”, an entertainment show airing every Saturday from 6 PM to 10 PM, which earned him the Best Radio Program of the Year award.

He also hosted “As)re y3 d3”, a gospel entertainment show airing every Sunday from 8 AM to 11 AM, where he interviews celebrities and artists and shares Christian music and discussions.

His excellence in broadcasting has been recognised with awards, including Main Radio DJ of the Year, Radio Programme of the Year and Best Radio DJ of the Year.

Beyond his professional life, DJ Forceby is known for his God-fearing nature, love for people, and strong communication skills. He avoids trouble and enjoys bringing joy to others through his work.

His favourite foods include Akpele and Fetr3 Dekyi, Jollof rice, and the popular local dish GOB3, while his favourite fruit is banana.

DJ Forceby’s journey is a testament to resilience, adaptability, and passion. From school performances to battling industry setbacks and reinventing himself, he has continued to thrive.

As he forges ahead, he remains committed to growing his brand, impacting lives, and making an everlasting mark on Ghana’s entertainment landscape.
