Father of Ghanaian Highlife star KK Fosu dies at 81

Samuel Kwamena, father of Ghanaian Highlife musician KK Fosu, has died at the age of 81.

Kwamena passed away last week after a short illness and his one-week observation memorial will be held on December 6, 2025 in Mangoase, Akwapim, in Ghana’s Eastern Region.

KK Fosu, known for hits such as Sudwe and Anadwo Yede, is regarded as one of the leading voices of contemporary Highlife music.

Tributes have begun pouring in from fans and fellow musicians following news of the bereavement.
