The Ghana Police Service has announced stringent security arrangements to guarantee a safe and incident-free Easter celebration nationwide.
A statement issued by the Public Affairs Directorate on April 2, 2026, revealed that personnel have been meticulously deployed to strategic locations, with a heightened focus on the Kwahu enclave, a premier Easter destination.
"The Ghana Police Service wishes to inform the public that robust security measures have been put in place to ensure a safe, peaceful, and incident-free celebration of this year's Easter festivities," the statement said.
To ensure public safety, officers have been stationed at event venues, recreational centers, popular tourist attractions, and high-traffic areas. Security has been amplified along major routes leading to and from Kwahu, with augmented patrols and operational teams deployed to fortify safety.
Motor traffic personnel have been tasked with managing traffic flow and mitigating congestion.
"Motorists are urged to observe road traffic regulations, avoid excessive speeding, refrain from drink-driving, and take directions from our officers to ensure safety on our roads," the statement emphasized.
The police have also activated nationwide intelligence operations to preempt and respond swiftly to potential security threats. The public is urged to remain vigilant, cooperate with security personnel, and report suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
"We also encourage all patrons to be mindful of their personal safety and belongings," the statement added. The police reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order throughout the festivities, wishing citizens a safe and joyous Easter.
