George Oti Bonsu, a financier of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed frustration over what he describes as neglect by the party despite his significant financial contributions to its activities.
In an interview on Okay FM on January 15, 2025, Mr. Oti Bonsu claimed that some NPP leaders have treated him unfairly, even after he financed numerous campaign programs for the party. He specifically accused Abu Jinapor, a former Deputy Chief of Staff, of denying him a contract during the party’s administration.
Recounting his experience, Mr. Oti Bonsu stated, “While the NPP was in power, Eugene asked me to visit Jubilee House because they wanted to assign me all the carpentry work there. He directed me to meet Abu Jinapor. When I met him, he acknowledged that the work was available but bluntly refused to grant me the contract.”
He added, “Even if I had wronged him, is this the appropriate way to treat someone who has supported the party? He told me outright that he would not give me the job. Such actions are deeply disappointing.”
Mr. Oti Bonsu voiced his concerns about the current state of leadership within the party and warned of the potential consequences if such attitudes persist. “The party needs to change its approach towards loyal supporters, or else it risks losing the backing of individuals willing to help,” he said.
