Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang embarks on heartwarming mission to champion inclusive education

Vice President Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang kicked off the festive season at the New Horizon Special School's Nativity Play and Carols Night, an event that underscored the imperative of inclusive education for all.




The evening, replete with performances that exuded passion, confidence, and unbridled joy, left the Vice President and dignitaries in attendance visibly moved.

The students' remarkable talent and resilience served as a powerful and tremendous prove to the untapped potential that lies within every individual, regardless of their abilities.

In her remarks, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang underscored the significance of recognizing the abilities of every child, rather than their limitations.

"Every child has potential. Every child deserves a system that sees their abilities before their limitations," she emphasized, highlighting the need for a paradigm shift in the approach to special needs education.

The Vice President also expressed delight at the impressive array of products showcased from the school's vocational programme, a testament to the boundless talent that can be unleashed when given the opportunity.

"These students are our citizens and our children; our duty is to help them obtain dignity and opportunity," she declared.

Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang extended her heartfelt gratitude to the parents, teachers, caregivers, management, and board of the New Horizon Special School for creating a nurturing environment that empowers differently abled children to learn, express themselves, and thrive.

The event served as a great reminder of the importance of fostering an inclusive society that values and supports the diverse needs of all its members, ensuring that no child is left behind.
