Civil Service Week Fair Highlights Ghana’s Industrial Reset Agenda

The 2026 Civil Service Week Policy and Exhibition Fair has opened at the Accra Sports Stadium, with the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry and its agencies using the platform to showcase key policies, programmes and initiatives supporting Ghana’s development agenda.

The four-day event, running from Monday, August 10 to Thursday, August 13, 2026, is being held under the theme, “The Resetting Agenda for Sustainable Development in Ghana: The Civil Service’s Responsibility.”

At its exhibition booth, the Ministry is highlighting projects and programmes implemented over the past one and a half years through pictorial displays, while also showcasing newly approved policies in the garment and textiles, pharmaceuticals, component manufacturing and agribusiness sectors.

The Policy and Exhibition Fair brings together Ministries, Departments and Agencies, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies, as well as private sector organisations to showcase their programmes, products and services and provide on-the-spot services to Civil Service staff and the general public.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Head of Civil Service, Dr. Evans Aggrey-Darko, commended Heads of MDAs and MMDAs for their commitment and contribution towards the successful organisation of the celebration.

He also praised Civil Service staff across the country for their dedication, professionalism and continued commitment to effective public service delivery.

Dr. Aggrey-Darko was accompanied by the Chief Director of the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Mr. Noah Tumfo, and other Chief Directors to officially open the Fair.

The delegation subsequently toured the exhibition grounds to inspect the various booths mounted by participating institutions.

The Head of Civil Service encouraged coordinators and facilitators at the exhibition to uphold the guiding principles of the Civil Service and ensure that visitors receive respectful, professional and courteous treatment throughout the event.

Beyond the exhibitions, the Fair provides an opportunity for citizens and public sector workers to engage directly with institutions and gain insight into policies and programmes being implemented to advance Ghana’s sustainable development.

The participation of the Trade Ministry therefore places its industrial and agribusiness interventions directly before the public, highlighting the role of effective public service in translating government policies into programmes that can support economic growth, industrial development and sustainable livelihoods.
