Exploring Personality Types

Sun, 11 Jan 2026 Source: Obeng Samuel

I’ve always been idealistic—driven by my values and a deep desire to make the world better for everyone. I prefer solitude over crowds, and I find comfort in structure rather than chaos.

In conflict, I lean on empathy and diplomacy. I struggled to relate to people who were not real because I trusted easily. If someone needed something I didn’t have, I’d still try to find it—even if it cost me my peace. And when I sensed injustice, I couldn’t stay silent.

For a long time, these traits brought me stress—at work, in friendships, in love; because some people nearly bled me to death. I tried to change who I was, thinking something was wrong with me. But that only made me feel more lost.

Then I discovered personality types. I took a free MBTI test online and found out I’m an INFJ—The Advocate. Just 1% of the population. Apparently, I share this type with people like Jesus and Nelson Mandela. That realisation changed everything. I started unlearning, learning and relearning how to live in alignment with who I truly am without being over exploited.

That’s the truth about personality: it’s not about putting yourself in a box. It’s about understanding the shape of your soul—so you can live with more clarity, peace, and purpose.

Why Personality Matters

Your personality isn’t just a label.

It’s a lens—shaping how you see the world, and how the world sees you.

– It influences how you make decisions

– How you recharge your energy

– How you handle conflict

– How you express love

– How you process pain

Knowing your type doesn’t limit you. It frees you.

The Power of Self-Awareness

There are many tools—MBTI, Enneagram, Big Five—that can help you understand your wiring: your strengths, your blind spots, your growth edges.

But beyond the charts and acronyms, the real question is:

Do you understand how you are wired?

– Are you energised by people—or by solitude?

– Do you lead with logic—or with empathy?

– Do you crave structure—or thrive in spontaneity?

– Do you speak to think—or think before you speak?

– Do you avoid conflict—or face it head-on?

There is no right or wrong.

There is just you.

When you understand your wiring, you stop fighting yourself and stop apologising for being “too much” or “not enough.” You simply start building a life that actually fits.

Patterns, Not Prison Cells

Your personality type isn’t a cage. It’s a compass.

It helps you:

– Choose work that energises you

– Build relationships that nourish you

– Set boundaries that protect you

– Communicate in ways that feel natural

– Grow in ways that are sustainable

You don’t need to become someone else to thrive.

You just need to become more of who you already are.

How to Explore Your Type

Start with curiosity—not judgment.

– Take a personality assessment—but don’t stop there

– Reflect on your patterns: What drains you? What fuels you?

– Ask people you trust: “When do I seem most alive?”

– Journal your reactions to stress, joy, conflict, and change

– Observe your habits—not just what you do, but why you do it

The goal isn’t to label yourself.

It’s to understand yourself.

🌱 Growth Begins with Knowing

When you know your type, you can:

– Stop comparing your journey to someone else’s

– Stop forcing yourself into roles that don’t fit

– Start healing from shame that was never yours

– Start creating rhythms that honour your design

You don’t need to be more like them. You need to be more like you.

An Invitation for Growth

In 2026, let’s stop trying to be “normal.”

Let’s be natural and accountable.

Let’s explore our wiring with wonder, not judgment.

Let’s stop asking, “What’s wrong with me?”

And start asking, “What’s true about me?”

Because when you know who you are, you stop chasing approval and start living in alignment.

Peace and self-discovery to you.
