
The Ghana Badminton Association on Monday, November 3rd, 2025, held its Elective Congress via Zoom to usher in new executives who will steer the affairs of the Association for the 2026–2030 term.
The elections covered positions including President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary General, and Executive Board Members, with all nominees contesting unopposed.
In attendance were Mr. Hubert Leo Mensah, representing and supervising the election on behalf of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Mr. Kwame Mensah Saah, NSA Regional Director, and Nana Adu Mankata II, a representative of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC).
Also present were regional badminton representatives, coaches, athletes, and stakeholders of the sport.
The elected executives are as follows: Mr. Evans Yeboah retained his position as President, Mr. Ernest Adofo as Vice President, Princess Sefacor Sembia as Treasurer, and Mr. Abu Iyman as Secretary General.
The Executive Board Members sworn into office were Hon. George Loh, Professor Emmanuel Sarpong, Mrs. Evelyn Nsiah Asare, Mr. Alidha Barry, Madam Lily Vesta Nyarko, with Ahmad Abdul Samad, confirmed as the Athletes’ Representative. The elected officials were subsequently sworn into office after taking the oath of service.

Nana Adu Mankata II, Executive Board Member of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), stated:
“The Ghana Olympic Committee extends its warmest congratulations to the newly elected executives of the Ghana Badminton Association. The diverse composition of this board is a testament to badminton’s growing appeal and administrative maturity. We are confident that under President Evans’s continued leadership, badminton will advance further on the continental and global stage. You have our full support at the Olympic Committee.”
Mr. Kwame Mensah Saah, NSA Regional Director, together with Mr. Hubert Leo Mensah of the NSA, also commended the process, noting:
“The NSA acknowledges and applauds the peaceful, orderly, and democratic nature of this election. The quality of individuals elected promises a bright future. We look forward to close collaboration with this formidable team to further integrate badminton into the national sports framework.”

“As we begin the next term, our priority is to strengthen and expand our strategic plan. This includes building stronger partnerships, increasing school and youth participation, improving competitive performance, and reinforcing our governance and membership structures. We also intend to embrace the growing influence of entertainment, digital engagement, and lifestyle trends, which continue to redefine modern sport globally.”

Our goal is to keep rising and to make badminton a household name across the country.
