The Ghana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) proudly participated in the 2026 Level 100 Orientation Programme of the Department of Physical Education and Sports (PESS) at the University of Ghana, reaffirming its commitment to developing the next generation of sports professionals.

The President of the Federation, Madam Rafatu Inusah, delivered a career-focused address highlighting the vast opportunities available within the sports industry beyond active play. Drawing from her personal journey from athlete to administrator, she emphasized early volunteering, practical exposure, and continuous learning as key foundations for sustainable careers in sport.

She encouraged students to position themselves as future leaders across sports development, coaching, officiating, administration, safeguarding, anti-doping education, and event management—stressing that Ghana’s sports ecosystem requires trained and committed professionals to grow.

The orientation also highlighted the collaboration between RightSet Ghana and the Ghana Rugby Football Union, creating structured pathways for students to gain hands-on experience as Sports Development Officers and access professional training opportunities within the federation framework.

Also present at the programme were Samira Mensah, General Manager of the GRFU, and Rachel Ankomah, Director of Corporate Communications, further demonstrating the Union’s dedication to mentorship and industry engagement.

Through strategic partnerships with academic institutions and youth-focused organisations, Ghana Rugby continues to bridge the gap between the classroom and the field- shaping the future of sports development in Ghana.
