
3Music TV officially unveiled its list of the 40 African Women Trailblazers, celebrating outstanding women across the continent who are redefining leadership, breaking barriers, and creating lasting impact in their respective fields.

Among the honorees was Rachel Ankomah, a passionate sports leader, communicator, and entrepreneur dedicated to using sports and media as tools for empowerment and growth.
Rachel Ankomah is the Founder & Coach of Accra Majestics Sports Academy, a Sports Development Officer at the National Sports Authority, Director of Corporate Communications at the Ghana Rugby Football Union, Founder & Digital Creator at RA Media GH, and a ForbesBLK Member.
Her journey in sports began at a young age, competing in triple jump during her junior high school years. She went on to actively participate in multiple sports in senior high school, including hockey, handball, soccer, basketball, javelin, and cricket. At Achimota Senior High School, she represented the school internationally in Nigeria in 2011 and 2013 and served as captain of the hockey team in 2012. At the University of Ghana, she competed in the GUSA Games in 2014 and 2016, securing first and second place finishes in hockey, and later served as team manager for Warriors Volleyball Club and Titans Sporting Club.
Rachel made history as the first Women’s Rugby League Coordinator in Ghana. Through her leadership at Accra Majestics Sports Academy, she continues to nurture talent, instill discipline, and create structured pathways for young athletes. Her media brand, RA Media GH, focuses on digital storytelling that amplifies voices, brands, and movements across Africa, while her role at the Ghana Rugby Football Union centers on strategic communications, brand positioning, and stakeholder engagement.
In 2020, she was honored as a Rugby League Hero by the International Rugby League and led the “Pretty Girls Play Rugby League” campaign under the Rugby League Federation Ghana, promoting inclusion and challenging stereotypes around women in sports.
Beyond her professional roles, Rachel Ankomah remains a strong advocate for women in sports, championing inclusion, representation, and equal opportunities for female athletes and leaders.
