Ghanaian sports development professional, coach and entrepreneur Rachel Ankomah has been featured in the fourth issue of WISA Magazine, with a two-page editorial profile highlighting her journey and contributions across different areas of sport.

Titled “Rachel Ankomah: Building Opportunities Beyond the Field,” the profile appears on pages 16 and 17 of WISA Magazine – Issue 04, a publication celebrating women and their contributions to sport.
The feature highlights Ankomah’s work across sports development, coaching, sports administration, media and entrepreneurship, reflecting a career that extends beyond the technical aspects of sport into leadership, organisational development and creating opportunities for others.
Ankomah is the founder of Accra Majestics Sports Academy, a Ghanaian multi-sport organisation committed to nurturing talent, building character and transforming lives through sport.
What began with rugby league has gradually developed into a multi-sport initiative, with activities extending into rugby union, football, flag football, Kabaddi and jump rope/skipping.

Through the academy, she has championed grassroots sports development, youth participation, community engagement and greater opportunities for women and girls in sport.
Her approach to sports development places emphasis not only on producing athletes but also on using sport as a platform for personal growth, discipline, leadership and social development.
Beyond Accra Majestics, Ankomah is also the founder of RA Media GH, a sports media platform focused on news, storytelling, interviews, features and coverage of sporting activities.
She also founded Her Field, Her Rules, an initiative focused on women and girls in sport, particularly participation, confidence, leadership and ownership.
Her involvement in Ghanaian sport spans several disciplines and organisations, including rugby, Kabaddi, touch rugby, jump rope and other sporting activities. Her experience has included coaching, federation administration, sports promotion and grassroots development.
Accra Majestics also represented in WISA Magazine
Alongside Ankomah’s personal profile, Accra Majestics Sports Academy has a dedicated promotional feature on page 15 of the same issue.
The academy’s appearance provides an opportunity to showcase its identity, activities and commitment to sports development to a wider audience.
The two appearances offer different but connected perspectives: one documenting the journey of a Ghanaian woman working across the sporting industry, and the other showcasing an organisation she founded to create sporting opportunities.
Visibility beyond the field
For women working across the sporting industry, visibility and representation remain important in encouraging participation, recognising contributions and inspiring the next generation of sports leaders.
Ankomah’s two-page profile in WISA Magazine provides another platform through which her work and journey can reach audiences beyond Ghana.
As she continues to work across sports development, administration, coaching and entrepreneurship, the focus remains on building opportunities and contributing to the growth of sport.
