A driver collides with thieves and preventsDarkuman's MoMo robbery

A quick-witted driver crashed his car into two suspected armed robbers who had attacked a mobile money (MoMo) vendor and were trying to escape with cash on Tuesday, preventing a robbery attempt at Darkuman in Accra.According to eyewitnesses, the suspects had just stolen over GH¢7,700 from the vendor when the driver saw what was happening and purposefully crashed into them to prevent them from fleeing. The suspects' escape was effectively disrupted when they fell as a result of the impact. One of the alleged robbers was able to flee the scene amid the pandemonium that followed.But when people realized what had happened, they rushed in and overpowered and captured the other suspect. Before police arrived to calm the situation and take the apprehended suspect into custody, he was the target of mob action.

Later, the pilfered money was found. While efforts are on to locate the fugitive accomplice, the suspect is presently in police custody and helping with investigations. Police have urged citizens to turn over individuals to law enforcement so that due process can be followed, while also praising the public for their vigilance and warning against mob action.
