Drama broke out at Lawson FM on September 26, 2025, according to a Ghpage news report, when a young nurse named Nana Yaa invaded the station with "Wee boys" to challenge Lawson Afisem, the host of a popular program, and a young man named Desmond.
After Desmond went live on the program, which was hosted by Maame Frimpomaa Korankye, also known as MFK, the mayhem began. Desmond described on-air how he fell in love with Nana Yaa after meeting her on TikTok.
According to him, their connection swiftly became serious. He claims that when they were dating, he frequently went to see Nana Yaa, and they had private moments together.
When Desmond lost his phone to Nana Yaa, he claimed that things went south. He clarified that she refused to return it even after multiple attempts to do so.
Desmond felt that the situation was unjust, so he went to Lawson Afisem to publicly explain his side of the story in the hopes that the platform would assist him in getting his phone back.
However, Nana Yaa and her family were not pleased with his disclosures. They chose to approach Desmond and the radio crew because they felt degraded and embarrassed.
According to reports, Nana Yaa, her mother, and a few followers showed up at the station in a fury, warning MFK and her employees about the situation and threatening to deal with Desmond.
Threats on the host's life apparently escalated the tense scenario. The relatives of the nurse expressed their displeasure with the way the matter was handled on television, according to witnesses.
After police intervened to defuse the tense situation, Desmond and her mother, Nana Yaa, were arrested and questioned.
Since then, the incident has generated considerable discussion on social media, with many individuals critiquing both sides. While some contend that Nana Yaa and her family overreacted by storming a media outlet in this way, others maintain that Desmond shouldn't have made private matters public.
