A student from Obrachire SHS was hospitalized following an attack during district games.

After a student from Obrachire Senior High Technical School was attacked by students from the Swedru School of Business (SWESBUS), the District Schools Athletics Games, which were intended to foster adolescent talent and sportsmanship, descended into violence.

Akwasi Addo, a Citi FM Central Regional Correspondent, reports that on Thursday, February 19, students from the two institutions got into a fight in Agona Swedru.

A number of SWESBUS students attacked an Obrachire student during the altercation, allegedly beating him with rods and throwing stones at him.

Social media users have shared videos of the student being brutally beaten before being taken to the hospital for medical attention.

The incident has been reported to the police, who have started looking into it, according to an Obrachire instructor.
