Ofori Amponsah, an award-winning Highlife performer, has admitted that Ghana is experiencing a financial crisis. In an interview with Berla Mundi on TV3, the Cinderella hitmaker claimed that outside shocks, not poor management, were to blame for the nation's financial difficulties.

"We are dealing with external shocks, and since I studied economics in school, I am aware of the system." Seeing people go to Italy on ships makes me feel sorry for this country. There are so many opportunities in this country that people are unaware of, and it makes me cry inside.

There is a lot of farming, but people don't like what will make them money, so they all want to take shortcuts. What kind of economy do we have when everyone is using shortcuts to make money? For this reason, I am stating that we must conduct an introspection as a nation as it is impossible for one party to do it alone and that we must work together to rebuild this nation.

This period of financial difficulties is experienced by all nations. Currently, Ghana is dealing with its own financial difficulties. Until we work together to change it, no one individual can accomplish it alone, therefore we don't have to give up. The dollar is GHC 16 today, but tomorrow it might be GHC 25 when Mahama arrives. If we survive another ten years, you might interview me and claim that I told you. Pushing forward, he admitted that Ghana is experiencing a financial crisis.
