The Ghana Music Xperience (GMX) streaming platform was not introduced by the NPP government, as some have claimed, according to Rex Omar, a well-known artist and representative of the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO). He underlined that the platform is not a government project but rather a private endeavor developed by single individual. Contrary to popular belief, the NPP government did not launch the streaming app. Vice President Bawumia was invited to the launch, which was the result of a private initiative. Rex Omar said, "It is incorrect to give the impression that the NPP government is behind the app."
