The development of a cutting-edge multifunctional complex modeled after significant worldwide facilities like the O2 Arena in the UK and the Javits Center in New York has been announced by Dr. Agnes Adu, Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Trade Fair Limited. A hotel, conference center, exhibition spaces, dining options, a data center, and a space specifically designated for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) are just a few of the many amenities that will be added as part of the reconstruction project, according to Dr. Adu.

Dr. Adu described the project's breadth in an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Channel One TV's Face to Face, emphasizing that the new facility will have an indoor size of about 20,000 square meters. She underlined that the renovation will establish the Ghana Trade Fair as a premier location for regional and global gatherings, making a substantial contribution to Ghana's cultural and economic landscape.

"The main conference center in Ghana is being constructed by us. Its internal space is roughly 20,000 square meters. air-conditioned and properly maintained indoors, similar to New York's Javits Centre or 02 Arena. Such a convention center will exist when you visit Accra. Ten thousand square meters make up the convention center floor and the exhibition hall. If you wish to have a large concert with standing space only, you can use four to six people per square meter, according to our conservative estimations. In a prudent manner, we employ roughly three workers per square meter. As a result, a standing room can accommodate roughly 30,000 people. Therefore, how you wish to design the area will determine this.

"It's a multipurpose modern facility," she continued. We are constructing display floors, open exhibition floors, and multipurpose, multifunctional facilities. You have an exhibition and a convention with 1,000 people. When you're finished, you pack everything away. After you set up the next event—let's say a seated wedding—we have storage rooms. After that, you lift it up and, for example, arrange seats in a stadium. Therefore, you can come and rent those places from all of those possibilities that we have.

"It will be a standard lobby, approximately 5,000 square meters in size. Ten thousand individuals may move around the exhibition hall without any problems. In the lobby, you have a restaurant. We will have a hotel on the side, a Forex bureau, a back home, and a gift shop with only Ghanaian-made goods. We are working with a private developer to construct an AfCFTA secretariat, retail space, an amusement center, and a data center. She revealed that a number of contractors are currently on the job site and that more are anticipated to arrive shortly.

"We began building in 2020, and we've taken care of the roads, drains, and electricity." We have finished all of the on-site infrastructure. We are currently constructing the conference and exhibition center. After a brief hiatus from 2020 to 2022, we returned to the job site to complete it.
