According to reports from Modern Ghana on Friday, January 10, 2025, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, national chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government of political meddling that resulted in his son's termination.

On January 10, 2024, social media influencer Kay posted a video in which Asiedu Nketia described how his kid was fired from his job at a private company at the port.

"My son was employed at the port by a private company. 'Sack Asiedu Nketia's son, or we will withdraw your license,' the NPP warned the company's managing director after they won, Asiedu Nketia disclosed.

His son was hired on the basis of merit, he stressed, and there had been no problems with misbehavior or poor performance.

Asiedu Nketia acknowledged the experience and said he was proud of his ability to train his kids to handle such politically sensitive situations. He went on to say, "I raise my kids to accept that kind of thing too."

Given his lengthy political career, the NDC leader emphasized how his son's relationship with him made him a target.

The personal struggles that people under political pressure undergo in Ghana's divisive political environment are demonstrated by Asiedu Nketia's recount.

Former NDC General Secretary Asiedu Nketia has played important political roles in Ghana, including assemblyman and member of parliament.
