After an accident at Atwedie, one person died and another was hurt.

Following a collision at Atwedie on the Juaso-Konongo route in the Ashanti Region, one person has died and another is being treated for multiple injuries. The accident happened on Friday, December 26, 2025, at around 2:00 p.m.Witnesses told Adom News that an Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) pick-up truck with registration number GN 410-17 was heading from Konongo to Accra when it allegedly strayed off its lane at Atwedie. A Hyundai car with registration number CR 623-14 that was transporting passengers from Asante Akyem Adomfe to Konongo collided with the pick-up during this operation. The pickup apparently wound going off the road in the Atwedie township, while the Hyundai car crashed due to the contact.

While one passenger suffered severe injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment, another was declared dead at the scene. After receiving treatment, a few more injured people were released. As police start looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident, the deceased's body has been placed in the morgue at Juaso Government Hospital. To assist lower the number of incidents on key routes, road safety experts continue to advise drivers to rigorously abide by speed limits and traffic laws.
