Popular Ghanaian gospel singers Esther Smith and Florence Obinim have become the focus of intense social media debate after new claims emerged from Esther Smith’s former husband regarding the breakdown of their marriage.
The controversy began after Rev. Ahenkan Bonsu reportedly granted an interview in which he shared his side of the story about his divorce from the well-known gospel artiste.
Following the interview, many social media users revisited old gospel tracks and lyrics linked to the two singers, using them sarcastically to ridicule and comment on the unfolding situation online.
Some netizens referred to Esther Smith’s well-known song “Osoro Ne Me Fie,” claiming that although the singer is now reportedly based in the United Kingdom, conversations surrounding her previous marriage continue to follow her. Others also drew Florence Obinim into the discussions by referencing her popular song “Wiase Yɛnfa Nkɔ Bebiaa” while making remarks about wealth, luxury, and public image.
