Due to their involvement in the tumultuous circumstances that broke out during the Appointments Committee's vetting session on Thursday, four members of parliament have been suspended from parliamentary sessions for a period of two weeks. On Friday, January 31, 2025, Alban Bagbin, the Speaker of Parliament, made the announcement of the disciplinary action on the House floor. Frank Annoh-Dompreh, Alhassan Tampuli, Jerry Ahmed Shaib, and Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor are the impacted Members of Parliament. Following tense arguments between the Majority and Minority caucuses that interrupted proceedings and caused anarchy, they were suspended. Speaker Bagbin's choice demonstrates Parliament's commitment to maintaining order and ensuring civility during parliamentary sessions.
