Car Type Used by Eight Robbers in Konongo Following a Failed Operation, One Arrested

Seven people are being sought by police in Ghana's Ashanti Region for allegedly committing a daring armed robbery in Konongo that resulted in the theft of GH¢130,000.Before escaping with the money, the attackers reportedly locked one of the victims in a room to prevent any resistance.

A resident's identification of one of the suspects, 40-year-old Amid Tahiru, who tried to avoid capture by plunging into a nearby river, partially interrupted their escape.He was swiftly captured by locals and turned over to the police.

Officers conducting follow-up investigations found a number of things thought to be related to the heist, including a Heckler & Koch MP5 rifle with 37 rounds, a Wilson handgun with 11 rounds of 9mm ammunition, two black masks, a grading machine, and a vehicle number plate.
