Congratulations to the President-elect, Oti Regional House of Chiefs

Ghanaians were congratulated by Nana Soglo Alloh IV, the president of the Oti Regional House of Chiefs, on the peaceful 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections that took place on December 7, 2024. Along with congratulating the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and President-elect John Dramani Mahama on their resounding win, he also pledged the Oti Regional House of Chiefs' support for any programs and policies the president-elect would implement for the country.

The Regional House of Chiefs praised the outgoing Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for his early concession of defeat, which has prevented any unwarranted tension that could have arisen after the elections, while also congratulating President-elect Mr. John Mahama, Nana Soglo Alloh IV said in a statement. In the wake of the recent general elections on December 7, 2024, he said, "The Oti Regional House of Chiefs wishes to express its profound appreciation to the Chiefs and people for the peaceful and orderly manner in which they organized their affairs."

In response to the recent mob attack on three priests from the Catholic Church's Jasikan Diocese, he denounced the unwarranted assault on the priests who were about to start a project for the nation's good. "The Regional House of Chiefs called on political party leaders to warn their members and supporters to refrain from any violent acts, especially as we approach the impending handover of power on January 7, 2025, even though Mr. John Mahama has fully condemned these actions."In order to ensure that those implicated face the full force of the law, Nana Soglo Alloh IV called on the police to make sure that the offenders are apprehended, prosecuted, and that they follow up to make sure they do the necessary.
