Effutu's well-known Member of Parliament (MP), Alexander Afenyo Markin, recently shared his experiences with corruption and its wider societal ramifications while serving in opposition from 2013 to 2016. Speaking at an occasion, Markin said that businesspeople shared documents with him during his time in opposition, which encouraged him to expose wrongdoing. When Afenyo Markin said, "I see the room packed," he was recognizing the presence of important people in the audience, including professors, police officials, and public figures.
