Diogo Jota, a star for Liverpool and Portugal, passes suddenly in a Spanish vehicle accident at the age of 28.

• Diogo Jota, a standout for Liverpool and Portugal, lost his life in a car accident in Spain. He married last month at the age of 28, and the two of them had three kids.

• The incident took place in northwest Spain, close to the city of Zamora. André Silva, Jota's brother and a professional soccer player, also perished in the collision.

• Jota was an attacker who contributed significantly to Liverpool's most recent championship run, tallying six goals and dishing out four assists in 26 games. He won two Nations League championships with Portugal and three major trophies with the Reds.
