Prophet Ebenezer Adarkwah Yiadom, sometimes referred to as Opambour or Prophet 1, has openly stated that God has selected former President John Dramani Mahama to govern Ghana in the 2024 elections, according to My JoyOnline. During a meeting between Ashanti Region clergy and John Mahama, the controversial man of God made this audacious prophecy. Prophet Yiadom reiterated a prophecy he previously delivered in July 2023, stating that Mahama would return to the Jubilee House, while addressing the assembled religious leaders. The vocal cleric, known for his audacious and frequently controversial statements, stressed that neither spiritual nor human forces could change the divine will.

Prophet Yiadom said, "I have already made this prophecy about John Mahama's return to power, and it stands." "Prophecies like mine cannot be altered, regardless of the physical or spiritual labor of individuals. He is the one that God has selected.

As Ghana gets closer to its national elections in 2024, the prophecy is predicted to exacerbate the already tense political atmosphere. Prophet Yiadom's words have frequently sparked public controversy, with detractors raising concerns about how religion and politics interact. Nonetheless, his devotees regard him as a spiritual mentor whose advice is highly influential. Prophet Yiadom raised eyebrows during the same meeting when he questioned the Ghana Card's usefulness and whether it could be used to purchase a car nationwide for free. He appeared to be criticizing how the government handles national identity issues and how they affect residents in the actual world.

Prophet Yiadom remained steadfast in his preaching despite the uproar surrounding his statements. "What people do doesn't matter," he declared. "The will of God for this nation will be fulfilled, and John Mahama will return to power."
