The Minority Caucus of Parliament has been under fire from two pro-NPP media sites, Ken City Media and Wontumi TV, for reportedly excluding them from party news conferences. Both media outlets' representatives have pledged to abstain from any upcoming NPP news conferences in protest.
Oheneba Nana Asiedu criticized the NPP for disregarding the station in spite of its party devotion when speaking on Wontumi TV. I will refrain from discussing their news conference as they have made the decision to abandon Wontumi Radio and Wontumi TV. "I will personally remove anyone who makes mistakes and talks about the Minority's press conference from the air tomorrow," he said.
Asiedu also said that NPP leaders told Wontumi TV there was no budgetary allotment for them when they asked them to explain their omission.
"When we recently called Annoh-Dompreh, he informed us that their budget did not support Wontumi TV and FM, but they invited non-NPP stations situated in Accra. He claimed that Bawumia was losing the minority caucus in parliament today as a result of this mindset.
Notwithstanding their reputation as the NPP's mouthpiece, Ken City Media, which includes Oman FM, NET2 TV, Nap Radio, and Ash FM, also voiced their displeasure at being often excluded from party press conferences.
"I am really said today. The NPP has always had support from Ken City Media. We are the party's spokesperson, as even the minority leader acknowledged. Even though we have widely publicized the NPP, not a single Ken City station is invited to their news conferences. It is wrong what they are doing. said attorney Annoh-Dartey.
He emphasized that Ken City Media had suffered hardships to support the party and urged the party to involve them in important events like budget presentations and policy talks.
As the party deals with post-election losses, the increasing dissatisfaction among pro-NPP media outlets raises questions about internal cohesion.
