The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been endorsed by the People's National Convention (PNC) for the election scheduled for December 7. Following a National Executive meeting on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, the decision was made. At a news conference on Wednesday, PNC Chairman Samson Asaki Awingobit made the announcement.

The PNC cannot maintain its neutrality with nine days until the general elections. Our NEC meeting today was attended by fifteen regional delegates. "We collectively and by majority declare that the PNC will support the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Candidate for the 2024 general elections," Mr. Awingobit said after the conclusion of the discussions. The PNC's action comes after Bernard Mornah, their presidential candidate, was disqualified.

Following a comprehensive review of their nomination papers, the EC found mistakes that disqualified Mr. Mornah and ten other contenders from the presidential campaign. Mr. Mornah was unhappy with this action and sued the EC, claiming that the failure to offer him the chance to fix the mistakes violated his fundamental rights.
