The criticism that Rev. Dr. Lawrence Tetteh received for remarks he made on GTV's Breakfast Show on October 24, 2024, has been officially addressed. His comments caused a lot of worry and controversy because they mentioned delicate health topics and appeared to connect them to University of Ghana students. Dr. Tetteh started his apology by saying, "I want to formally address the issues that have arisen from the comments I made on the GTV Breakfast Show." "The remarks made during the program were not meant to disparage the university, instill fear or shame, or mislead the public in any way."

According to Rev. Dr. Tetteh, he interacts with a lot of people in his area of business who provide him private and sensitive information. He added that he maintains these confidences in the highest esteem and never reveals private information, either publicly or privately, without giving it careful thought. "I deal with a lot of people in my line of duty and get first-hand information on very sensitive issues they are faced with," he said. The unexpected result of connecting health issues to the university community, however, was noted by Rev. Dr. Tetteh, who said it "gave the university community cause for worry." "It is regrettable that I linked or associated the youth with such problems with University of Ghana students," he continued.

Dr. Tetteh apologized and retracted his statement unconditionally to the University of Ghana's students and staff as well as to the general public. "I sincerely apologize for the remarks made regarding the University of Ghana students' health," he stated. "I want to sincerely apologize and take back the statements." In order to dispel any misunderstandings and rebuild trust among people impacted by his remarks, he sent a statement to GTV and all other media outlets.
