Reports indicate that unidentified attackers have shot and killed Naa Gamu, the recently appointed Queen of Nungua West. In a widely shared video, the Queen was seen talking to some relatives when the gunshot struck her from the right side, causing her to slump and wince. Despite being taken to the hospital immediately, she tragically did not make it out alive, according to sources. Nungua West residents are currently urging authorities to take all necessary steps to apprehend those responsible for their Queen's death. In the meantime, the Nungua West Traditional Council has yet to provide the public with a verification.
Eight people, including a newborn child and its mother, have been killed in a car accident, according to another news report. On the Tema-Akosombo Highway in the Eastern Region, a Toyota HiAce minivan registered GR 53 21-2022, which was driving from Kpone to Accra, collided with another vehicle, according to a UTV report. After leaving Kpandai, the driver of the passenger van allegedly tried to pass a Man Diesel truck piloted by Fuseini Issa, who was also making the trip to Accra. The vehicle, registered AS 8054-18, was traveling in the same direction at the time of the collision.
