Sensitive NDC youths storm the Ghana Gas office

Anger-filled young people who are thought to be National Democratic Congress (NDC) members have overrun the Ghana National Gas Company Limited (GNGCL) headquarters in Accra's Airport Residential neighborhood. On Tuesday, December 10, the young people broke inside the building. They were seen trying to forcefully open the front gate to the property in a video. They took this move in spite of National Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi's advice to NDC supporters to celebrate their win in the parliamentary and presidential elections in a measured manner. Sammy Gyami's came after two NDC supporters tragically died in Akomadan and there were allegations of violence.

Sammy Gyamfi stressed the value of appropriate celebration in a Monday media appearance in Accra. "Remember to celebrate in moderation. We need to demonstrate our responsibility as citizens. It is illegal to commit acts of vandalism, assault, or looting state property. We are a law-abiding group. Gyamfi said, "We want you to live to witness Mahama taking office." He also asked fans to celebrate in a responsible manner and refrain from attacking any state institutions. Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has accepted defeat to John Dramani Mahama, the candidate of the NDC, even though the Electoral Commission has not yet made the official results public.
