Survivor Tells Her Scary Escape From Burkina Faso Terror Attack: We Were Not the Target

In a terrifying account of the experience, a survivor of a recent terrorist attack in Burkina Faso explains how a split-second choice and the assurance of an interpreter might have saved their lives.Many people were killed and others were traumatized by the incident, which took place in an area where rebel violence was common.

The survivor described their car arriving in the location just as the gunmen began their assault, describing the harrowing experience.As gunfire began, panic broke out as people frantically sought shelter.In an attempt to outrun the attackers, the driver's first inclination was to hurry away from the danger.

But in what the survivor called a "surreal" moment, their interpreter stepped in and told the driver not to run away.According to reports, the interpreter warned that Ghanaians were not the terrorists' intended target, implying that they were targeting a particular nationality or group.
