President John Dramani Mahama's younger brother, Ibrahim Mahama, is a well-known Ghanaian billionaire who astounded onlookers by showing up to his brother's inauguration ceremony with a grounded demeanor. President Mahama was sworn in for a second term on January 7, 2025, in Accra's Black Star Square while riding a coaster bus. According to YEN, the billionaire was spotted driving the bus full of passengers as it arrived at the inauguration grounds in a video that swiftly went viral on social media. Many were drawn to his modest mode of transportation since he owned expensive cars. As he exited the vehicle, the predominantly National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters applauded, expressing gratitude for his unique yet relatable act.

Ghanaians responded to the video in a variety of ways after it was posted on X (previously Twitter). The businessman's humble presence surprised several commenters, while others praised his modest demeanor. One user, @SharafAwal, commented, "This guy can drive everything o." Another user, @mantse_ii, added, "One thing about boss, he'll always drive his own thing." Ibrahim Mahama, the CEO of Dzata Cement and Engineers and Planners, is accustomed to being in the spotlight. In addition to his prosperous commercial endeavors, he is well-known for his charitable endeavors, which include funding the treatment of a 10-year-old with leukemia and giving a bus to Tamale Senior High School, his alma mater.

Even if his attendance at the inauguration was anticipated, his surprising arrival style made it unforgettable. Despite his enormous fortune, the incident served as a reminder of his modest nature. President Mahama became the first Ghanaian president to hold office for two non-consecutive terms under the Fourth Republic when he was re-elected at the 2025 inauguration ceremony.
