UTV News reported the tragic news that three (3) young men had died in Ghana's Ahafo Region in the late hours of January 10, 2025. The UTV Ghana story claims that the young men came from the Ahafo Region's Newmont village, which is a winning community. The young me wanted to loot the Newmont mining company in the Ahafo Region at night, according to the Ghana Police Service report. But these teenage armed criminals were stopped from plundering the mining facility that night by the police officers on duty. Three juvenile lads out of the seven (7) males who visited the mining location were killed in the police clash.

According to UTV, the names of the deceased are Buffalo, Dauda, and Isha.
However, since the young men were killed, there has been some debate and misunderstanding at Newmont. Some community residents claimed that the young lads were neither armed robbers or criminals, thus they would no longer permit Newmont employees to work on their property. Residents have barricaded some of the main routes that go to the site.
