In a recent interview, Ghanaian comedian and singer Kwadwo Nkansah, better known by his stage as Lilwin, revealed a few days ago that he would file for divorce from his wife if his mother asked him to.

Lilwin claims that regardless of how much he loves his wife, he will always follow his mother's advice if she ever requests a divorce. Lilwin underlined in the interview how important his mother was to his upbringing.

"My mother is the reason for my existence and prosperity. “I will trust her judgment if she ever tells me my wife is not good for me,” Lilwin remarked.

Some responded to this by urging Lilwin to marry his mother since he respects her viewpoint more than his wife's.

Marriage, according to critics, is a partnership based on respect and trust between two people and shouldn't be influenced by outside forces, including family. In order to marry his current spouse, some have even claimed that he followed his mother's advice to divorce his first marriage.
