In a grand celebration of faith and commitment, 108 new crusaders were initiated into the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church under St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Akyem Tafo. The initiation took place after a three-day camping event that brought together over 300 crusaders in honor of Saint John Bosco’s feast day.

Presiding over the ceremony, Rev. Fr. Noah Tseko highlighted the crucial role of the CYO in nurturing the spiritual and personal growth of young people. He encouraged the newly inducted members to uphold the values of the organization and actively participate in its mission.

During the ceremony, the new crusaders pledged to live by the principles of the CYO, embracing their roles as ambassadors of Christ and the Church. They were reminded of their duty to spread love, peace, and service to others. The joyous occasion was marked by prayers, music, and a special blessing from Rev. Fr. Noah Tseko, who welcomed them warmly into the CYO family.

Founded in 1930 by Saint John Bosco, an Italian priest and educator, the CYO remains dedicated to guiding young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, by providing spiritual and social development opportunities. The organization continues to uphold its mission of fostering faith, community service, and leadership among the youth.

Through such initiatives, the CYO ensures that Saint John Bosco’s legacy of empowering young people lives on, inspiring them to grow in their faith and contribute positively to their communities.
