The Me Boafo Foundation is set to equip young people with essential vocational skills to help them establish their own businesses or secure employment. This initiative aims not only to provide a source of income but also to boost their confidence and self-esteem.
Speaking in an interview with GhanaWeb, the Executive Director of MeBoafo foundation, Dr. Emmanuel ObiriAddo, a key figure in the foundation, highlighted the motivation behind this training program, emphasizing the importance of empowering the youth through practical skill development.
One of the flagship programs of the foundation is photography training, which will teach participants crucial aspects of the craft, including lighting, composition, and editing. Additionally, they will receive the necessary equipment and resources to launch their careers.
Another major area of focus is makeup and hairdressing, where trainees will learn the latest beauty industry trends, including makeup application, hairstyling, and nail artistry. The hands-on nature of this training will allow participants to gain real-world experience by working with clients.
The graphics and printing program will introduce young people to branding and design, covering logo creation, flyer and banner design, and both traditional and digital printing techniques.
Beyond vocational training, the foundation will also host mentorship programs, where experienced professionals will share their expertise and personal success stories. This initiative aims to inspire and guide young trainees toward achieving their goals.
Me Boafo Foundation strongly believes that investing in vocational training will not only improve the livelihoods of young individuals but also contribute significantly to community and national development. The foundation also plans to collaborate with other organizations to create employment opportunities for trained participants.
The two-day training program is scheduled to take place from February 13–14, 2025, at the Aegis Filling Station Conference Center in Asamakese. It is expected to bring together youth from Asamakese and across Ghana, offering them a chance to start new careers and transform their futures.
Through these initiatives, the Me Boafo Foundation remains committed to shaping a generation of empowered and self-sufficient youth who will drive positive change in their communities.
