Hon. Afenyo-Markin is either uninformed or a hypocritical Christian, given his association with Freemasonry and his promotion of LGBTQ+ rights, while still making a public confession of faith in Christ and Christianity.
Hon. Afenyo-Markin should understand that, except for underground church communities, no one requires a formal invitation or a secretive conduit to join a Christian church, as is characteristic of Freemasonry.
Furthermore, he should acknowledge that references such as Pope Francis, former President John Agyekum Kufuor, Palmer Buckle, and other Masons are not Jesus Christ, the Holy Apostles, or the Prophets, whose voices are divinely inspired and recorded in the Holy Scriptures. These references do not serve as divine authority to authenticate the claim that Freemasonry aligns with Christianity.
Historically, Freemasonry has never been recognized as part of any Christian body, whether as a denomination, movement, or para-church organization. The secretive and clandestine nature of Freemasonry is evidence enough of its separation from Christianity.
In the First Century Church, baptismal candidates were required to publicly renounce any affiliation with secret societies akin to modern groups like Freemasonry, the Illuminati, and the Lodge. This reinforces the notion that Christianity does not accommodate associations with secretive organizations.
"Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter." – Matthew 7:12
This response comes in reaction to Hon. Afenyo-Markin’s statement, as quoted by Graphic Online:
"Freemasonry is not anti-Christ. President Kufuor has been a Mason; he occupied the Grand Rank in the UK. The Pope invited and honoured him. So, what are we talking about?" – Afenyo-Markin
