In recent years, the Church in Ghana has witnessed a troubling rise in self-proclaimed prophets and spiritual leaders who exalt themselves above the Scriptures, the teachings of the Apostles, and tragically, even above our Lord Jesus Christ. One of the most disturbing examples is Adom Kyei Duah, who claims to be the only way to Christ. Such blasphemous assertions demand a sober and urgent response from every true follower of Christ.
The foundational truth of Christianity is that Jesus Christ alone is the way to the Father. The Lord Himself declared in John 14:6:
> “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
Jesus left no room for any human mediator between us and God. He did not say, “Adom Kyei Duah is the way,” or that any prophet or pastor would replace His role. Anyone who claims to be “the only way” to Christ sets themselves up as a false messiah.
This is a direct contradiction of the Gospel and is condemned in Scripture. The Apostle Paul, who carried the Gospel to the Gentiles, warned sternly:
> “But even if we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.” – Galatians 1:8
Adom Kyei Duah and those like him are preaching another gospel—a false gospel that glorifies man rather than Christ.
The Bible is clear: in the last days, many will claim divine authority, performing signs and wonders to deceive—even the elect, if possible.
> “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.” – Matthew 24:24
Such individuals often use the name of Christ to promote their own fame, wealth, and control over people. They build personal empires instead of advancing the Kingdom of God, draw followers to themselves rather than pointing them to Jesus, and twist Scripture to justify their deception.
The Apostle Peter also warned:
> “But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies… and many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed.” – 2 Peter 2:1-2
Let us not be among those who follow such destructive paths.
Ghana is a nation blessed with a rich Christian heritage. From early missionaries to faithful local pastors and evangelists, the Gospel has taken deep root in our land. But we must not allow wolves in sheep’s clothing to lead us astray.
Every Christian must return to the Word of God. The Bible is our final authority—not the visions or declarations of any man. The Scriptures testify of Christ (John 5:39) and are able to make us wise unto salvation (2 Timothy 3:15–17).
We must also hold fast to the teachings of the Apostles and the early Church Fathers, who upheld the supremacy of Christ and the sufficiency of Scripture. As Jude exhorted:
> “Contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.” – Jude 1:3
This faith does not need to be reinvented or redefined by self-styled prophets. It has been “once for all” delivered, and it is rooted in the person and work of Jesus Christ.
Let it be clear: No prophet, pastor, or bishop stands between you and God. There is only one Mediator:
> “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.” – 1 Timothy 2:5
To say otherwise is to rob Christ of His exclusive role as our Savior and High Priest. Any man who claims to be your “only way” to Christ is usurping the very role of Jesus Himself. That is not merely error; it is spiritual treason.
Jesus taught us how to identify false prophets:
> “You will know them by their fruits.” – Matthew 7:16
Do these leaders exhibit the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22–23)? Do they walk in humility, love, and sound doctrine? Or are they characterized by pride, manipulation, materialism, and confusion?
Many false prophets thrive on fear and dependency. They do not equip the saints to stand firm in their own faith but make their followers spiritually dependent on them for every decision, prayer, or blessing. This is not discipleship—it is bondage.
Beloved in Christ, this is the time to reaffirm your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord, Savior, and only Mediator. Trust in His finished work on the cross, His resurrection, and His continual intercession for you. Do not look to men for your salvation or spiritual direction. Look to Christ, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).
If you are a member of Adom Kyei Duah’s ministry, we urge you in love: come out from deception. Seek the truth in the Word. Do not be swayed by charismatic words or dramatic claims. Remember what Paul wrote to Timothy:
> “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires… they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.” – 2 Timothy 4:3–4
That time is now. Do not be among those who turn aside to fables.
We urge the Church in Ghana and around the world: Test all things. Hold fast to what is good (1 Thessalonians 5:21). Be like the Bereans, who searched the Scriptures daily to see if what Paul said was true (Acts 17:11).
Honor your pastors and spiritual leaders, but do not give any man the place that belongs to Christ alone. No one can replace your personal relationship with Jesus or the authority of Scripture in your life.
Christ is enough.
> “Therefore, as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught.”– Colossians 2:6–7
Let us walk faithfully in Christ and warn others in love—so that no one is led away by false teachings, but all may stand firm in the truth of the Gospel.
