The Paramount Chief of Jirapa and President of the Jirapa Traditional Council, Naa Diana Donglabong Ganaa III, has lauded the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for its pivotal role in the developmental transformation of the Jirapa Municipality.

During a courtesy call by the National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, as part of his nationwide "thank you" tour, the traditional ruler underscored that the NDC’s footprint on the region’s progress is undeniable.

Speaking at his palace, Naa Diana Donglabong Ganaa III emphasized that the story of Jirapa’s development is inextricably linked to the NDC, noting that the majority of major infrastructural projects and social interventions in the area were initiated and completed under NDC administrations.

"Jirapa cannot boast of development without mentioning the NDC party," the Paramount Chief stated. "Most of the development we see here today was done by the NDC government, and it is an objective fact that we truly appreciate."

The Chief further commended the leadership style of the NDC National Chairman, popularly known as "General Mosquito." He expressed admiration for Asiedu Nketiah’s commitment to grassroots engagement, noting that the Chairman’s presence on the ground stands in stark contrast to politicians who prefer to operate from the national capital.

"I particularly like the fact that, as Chairman, you haven't stayed in Accra. You are always on the ground to hear the grievances of the grassroots and the citizens of Ghana as a whole," Naa Ganaa III remarked. "This kind of leadership is what fosters a true connection between the people and those who seek to lead."

In response, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah thanked the Paramount Chief for his warm reception and his candid acknowledgment of the party’s historical efforts in the region. He reiterated the NDC’s dedication to decentralization and promised that the party would continue to prioritize the needs of rural communities and the Upper West Region in its future policy projections.

The visit to the Jirapa palace forms part of Mr. Asiedu Nketiah's ongoing tour across the country, aimed at engaging with traditional authorities, party faithful, and the general public to express gratitude for their support and to listen to current socio-economic concerns.

The event, which drew a large crowd of residents and party supporters, also served as a platform for the Jirapa Traditional Council to highlight key challenges facing the municipality, including the need for improved healthcare facilities and road networks.
