The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has issued a directive to all parliamentary candidates, urging them to intensify their presence in their constituencies. According to a memorandum dated October 4, 2024, the party expressed concern over reports that some parliamentary candidates were not spending adequate time in their constituencies to engage with the electorate and carry out campaign activities.

The memo highlights that this lack of engagement could adversely affect the party's chances in both the presidential and parliamentary elections. As a result, the General Secretary has mandated that each parliamentary candidate spend a minimum of four days per week in their respective constituencies to ensure active involvement in local affairs.

Regional campaign teams have also been tasked with submitting weekly reports on the activities of their parliamentary candidates to the National Secretariat, in an effort to track engagement and progress.

The party emphasizes the seriousness of this matter and trusts that the candidates will comply with the directive to bolster the party’s electoral fortunes.
