A group of enthusiastic students from Opass Junior High School (JHS) recently took to the airwaves to share their insights on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education.

On Nopras Fm 107.5, the students engaged in a lively discussion, highlighting the importance of STEM education in Ghana's development. They emphasized how STEM skills can drive innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth. The discussions were about the need for improved STEM infrastructure in school, encouraging more girls to pursue STEM careers, integrating practical applications into STEM curricula, and addressing the shortage of qualified STEM teachers.

According to the girls prefect, who is also the president of the Opass Girls Club, "STEM education is crucial for Ghana's future, We need to focus on developing skills that will drive technological advancement, as a girl in STEM, I believe we need more role models to inspire others to follow in our footsteps.

"We are grateful to the Abuakwa North Director of Education Mrs Grace Adza Awude for this wonderful opportunity, It was an invaluable experience, and we learned so much."

This radio appearance was part of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) initiative aimed at promoting STEM education in Ghana.
