Amenfi Central, Ghana — The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Amenfi Central constituency has raised serious concerns over what it describes as a plot to disqualify its parliamentary candidate, Madam Joana Gyan Cudjoe, from the upcoming December 7, 2024, elections. At a press conference held earlier today, the leadership of the NDC alleged that Dr. Bossman Asare and Fuseini Adonis Kweku, in collaboration with the New Patriotic Party (NPP), are planning to disqualify Madam Joana through questionable means.

According to the NDC, Madam Joana Gyan Cudjoe underwent a thorough re-election process, which was supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC) after the party's national leadership annulled the initial primaries that first elected her. The second primaries were conducted fairly, with all contestants from the first round participating, leading to Madam Joana's re-election. Mr. Adonis, the District Electoral Officer, is said to have overseen this process.

The NDC leadership stated that Madam Joana successfully filed her nomination with the EC without any issues and was officially introduced to the public as the validly filed parliamentary candidate for the constituency. They expressed shock and disappointment at the alleged actions of Dr. Bossman Asare and Mr. Adonis, who they claim are attempting to undermine the democratic process to benefit the NPP.

"We are serving notice and notice hereby served that, should they carry through this diabolical plan, there will be no elections in Amenfi Central," warned the NDC leadership. They emphasized their determination to resist any attempt to disqualify their candidate, vowing to protect the integrity of the electoral process.

The party reiterated its desire for peace in the Amenfi Central constituency but stated that it would not compromise on justice or allow the interests of a few individuals to undermine democracy. They reaffirmed that Madam Joana Gyan Cudjoe remains the NDC's parliamentary candidate and will be on the ballot come December 7, 2024.

The press conference ended with a call for vigilance among party members and a pledge to stand firm against any attempts to disrupt the democratic process.
