Youth in Wassa Ayiem,a mining community in the Amenfi Central constituency in the Western Region have vowed to chase the electoral Commission from the constituency if it fails to include Hon Joana Gyan Cudjoe, the NDC parliamentary candidate for the area on the ballot ahead of the December 7 election .

They however threatened to beat the EC officials and boycott the 2024 general election if the Electoral Commission do not reinstate their parliamentary candidate.

Speaking to newsmen at Ayiem, the youth indicated that, the Constituency is reliably informed that Dr. Bossman Asare (Deputy Commissioner of the Electoral Commission)and Fuseini Adonis Kweku in connection with the NPP planned the diabolical means of disqualifying their candidate from contesting the upcoming parliamentary elections in Amenfi Central for the fear that Joana Gyan Cudjoe will be winning the seat.

They stated unequivocally that they will resist such moves with all their might and strength since there is no basis for her disqualification.

He said,Madam Joana went through the right process of re-election supervised by the EC after the leadership of the NDC at National level annulled the first primaries that initially elected her.

"This action of Party Leadership was based on reliefs sort by petitioners who thought she wasn’t validly elected. It is instructive to note that contestants for the first primaries all participated in the second primaries that eventually re-elected Madam Joana. Interestingly, Mr. Adonis, the District Electoral Officer of EC, was the one who supervised the process of electing our candidate so they see no sense for the EC to disqualify her."They further indicated.

According to them, Madam Joana Gyan Cudjoe, successfully filed her nomination with the EC without any problem whatsoever and was subsequently introduced to the general public by the EC Returning Officer for Amenfi Central as the NDC validly filed parliamentary candidate.

"We are therefore surprised with the turn of events being perpetuated by Dr. Bossman Asare and Mr. Adonis just to do the bidding of NPP. They will have to contain us on this tangent.

We are serving notice and notice hereby served that, should they carry through this their diabolical plans, there will be no elections in Amenfi Central. We will not allow self-serving EC officials to undermine our democracy just because they want NPP to win at all cost. Never! Madam Joana Gyan Cudjoe is the NDC Parliamentary candidate for Amenfi Central constituency for the December 7, 2024 general elections and will appear on the ballot paper as such.

We want peace in the constituency but not on the alter of people’s parochial interest."He concluded
