
As part of efforts to end malnutrition and child food poverty in the Fanteakwa North District of the Eastern Region, World Vision Ghana in partnership with the Ministry of Education , Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture and the Fanteakwa North District Assembly has launched the " Enough Campaign".

The " Enough Campaign" which is a global action geared towards addressing issues of malnutrition in terms of stunting, wasting, lack of micronutrients and overweight will also champion issues of food security in communities.
In the Fanteakwa North District available data shows that between 22 to 29 percent of children are in multidimensional poverty and 1 of every 5 children in the district is experiencing stunted growth with 1 out of every 2 children diagnosed with anemia a worrying situation which needs to be addressed by all stakeholders.
Speaking to Journalist at the launch of the Enough Campaign Coordinator Barbara Asare outlined the objective of the campaign.
" World Vision has launched a global campaign dubbed ( Enough) enough to end child hunger and malnutrition, the campaign is to first of all address issues of malnutrition in terms of stunting, wasting, lack of micronutrients and overweight and then issues of food insecurity in our communities".

"Again the campaign is also focused on advocacy for school feeding programmes so that government can at least scale up school feeding in all communities, we did consultation with children and they want it scaled up to the JHS level so that they can all enjoy nutritious food and also sourcing available local food crops in the communities so that the local farmers can also contribute to the school feeding so we are promoting school and community garden so that there will be diversity in food and school children will have enough not just with foods but nutritious food.
She added, "this community campaign is being done with the Ministry of Agriculture, Ghana Health Service and the Ghana Education Service and at the end of the day we want to ensure that issues with malnutrition, statistics or data on food security is affecting people are highlighted and we also want to ensure that children are head, children will lead the advocacy to ensure that there is enough nutritious food to thrive".
On his part the Fanteakwa North District Coordinating Director Agbo Eric who lauded the efforts of World Vision Ghana called for continuous stakeholders support.
" The SDG goals that talks about the fight against hunger and malnutrition so if on the global and there is this conscious efforts to fight malnutrition and hunger by World Vision Ghana it is well and appropriate for us as local actors to scale it to our level to ensure that no child goes to bed on empty stomach. By so doing they will be able to achieve their God given potentials in life so I believe this partnership with World Vision and other key stakeholders this initiative will help to bring an end to hunger and malnutrition ".
