A woman explains why the Ashanti Region has remained NPP loyal.

According to an Ashanti woman, the region has continuously distanced itself from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and remained staunchly loyal to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In a recent video that was uploaded on X, she clarified that the Ashanti people's loyalty to the NPP stems from traumatic experiences during Jerry John Rawlings' reign.

She remembered how the Ashanti people were subjected to torture and intimidation under Rawlings' regime, and how the severe treatment left them with profound scars that have fueled years of suspicion and animosity toward the NDC.
