Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the departing Member of Parliament (MP) for the Greater Accra Region's Ablekuma West seat, has hinted that a new chapter in her life is starting following her defeat in the most recent legislative elections.
On Saturday, December 14, the Minister of Communications and Digitalization posted on Facebook, saying, "Let's see what He (God) has in store for me as the next chapter in my life unfolds."
The leaving minister thanked God in the announcement for the opportunity to serve the country for the past eight years.
She said, "I'm grateful for the chance to serve, Lord."
"Thank you, Ablekuma West!!" she added in acknowledgement of her constituents. Sayonara: "Looking into the future with confidence" is what the MP said.
Rev. Kweku Addo, the candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), defeated the Communications Minister in the polls held last Saturday.
The parliamentary election was won by Rev. Addo with 31,866 votes, and Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful came in second with 26,575.
Several prominent NPP MPs have lost their seats to the NDC, including her.
