Ghanaian media personality Akosua Ago Aboagye has announced her departure from Despite Media after two decades of dedicated service.

In a heartfelt Facebook post on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, she expressed her gratitude to the media company, her colleagues, and her audience for their unwavering support throughout her career.

Akosua, known for her eloquence and commitment to journalism, shared that the decision to leave was not an easy one. However, she believes it is time to explore new opportunities and embark on a fresh journey. “Today, I want to extend my sincere appreciation to Despite Media for 20 years of incredible experiences, support, and love. It is with mixed emotions that I officially announce my resignation,” she wrote.

She went on to thank her followers for their encouragement and hinted at exciting projects ahead. “I am deeply grateful to everyone who has supported my journey. Your kindness has been invaluable, and I appreciate each and every one of you. As I move forward, I carry cherished memories and lessons learned. My next adventure? Stay tuned,” she added.

Akosua Ago Aboagye has been a key figure in the Ghanaian media space, particularly at Peace FM and Okay FM, both part of the Despite Media Group. Her career began at Otec FM in Kumasi, where she made history as a female football commentator before transitioning to mainstream journalism. Over the years, she has built a reputation as a trusted voice in the industry, delivering news with professionalism and passion.

Beyond her work as a broadcaster, Akosua has also been an advocate for women’s empowerment. She initiated the “Woman2Woman” tour, which aimed to support women in discovering their potential, gaining confidence, and achieving their dreams. Through this initiative, she created a platform for continuous learning, self-appreciation, and responsible womanhood.
