All of the women on the Appointments Committee knelt before him, according to Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Nsawam Adoagyiri.
His altercation with Emeafa Hardcastle, the Petroleum Commission's acting chief executive officer, on January 28, 2025, prompted their actions.
At the conclusion of the altercation, Emeafa referred to Annoh-Dompreh as a "silly child."
Annoh-Dompreh disclosed that "all the ladies on the Committee came to kneel before me saying they what transpired" in reference to the incident. They were the first to kneel before me; you may check by calling them. At the time, I was just praying and I was furious.
Later, Emeafa joined them to apologize to him, the MP said.
He revealed that he forgave her whole heartedly and the patched things up.
When asked why he then raised the matter before the Speaker and sought actions against her with the Privileges Committee, he disclosed that Emeafa insulted him again right after leaving his office.
“I let the issue go but I raised it in parliament again because when I was leaving my office two (2) people came to me and said when she was exiting from where she came to apologize, she made another damning comment.”
So far, a resolution is yet to be made on the incident between the two. Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin had a meeting with Emeafa Hardcastle after the incident but what transpired in the meeting has not been made public yet.
